I'm a successful freelance journalist seeking a capable intern, with a view to employing a long-term assistant to share my increasing workload and develop mutual potential.

Based in the centre of Colchester, this job would suit a recent graduate with a qualification in English at A-level or higher. Applicants need not have extensive experience, be previously published or know the industry inside out, but should be keen to learn and ready to take on diverse tasks ranging from assisting at photo shoots to researching and creating complete articles from scratch.

My specialist subject areas include gardening, DIY and the environment, so knowledge of any or all of these fields would be an advantage (but is by no means essential).

Working within the Publications group, an in-house creative graphic design, copywriting & production facility providing a company-wide service for Imagination Technologies, this role consists of designing, writing and specifying end-user documenation for PURE consumer electronics products plus any additional writing in support of this or any other area of Imagination.

• Writing, editing and producing documentation and support materials
• Writing material for use online
• Producing or commissioning technical illustration
• Writing and editing marcomms material and web content
• Specifying software interfaces
• Investigating and implementing new technologies
• Also, any other duties as may reasonably be required

Note: Objectives agreed on an annual basis shall form an integral part of this Job Description. Objectives will normally be assigned within three months of joining.
