Biology in Business (BiB) is a Cambridge based network that promotes career development and technology exploitation within the life science sector. Our events in the Cambridge life science cluster promote interdisciplinary interactions by bringing together those in academia and business from a wide variety of backgrounds.
Activities supported by Biology in Business focus on developing those establishing their career in the life science sector, whether as an entrepreneur, academic or professional. Major activities include the annual Pitch Your Idea business pitch competition and Career Opportunities in Life Sciences (COiLS), the UK's largest annual careers fair highlighting non-academic career paths in the life sciences. Biology in Business also runs regular spotlight seminars at which executives from entrepreneurial local companies discuss their business strategy and technology with an audience drawn from academia and business.
Biology in Business is uniquely placed to bridge the academic and commercial life science sectors through strong links with academic institutions such as the University of Cambridge, Wellcome Genome Centre and Babraham Institute and relationships with local business organisations such as the Cambridge Network and the Eastern Regional Biotechnology Initiative.
