New ideas are the fuel of life for industry and the excitement is mounting as EEEGR launches the 5th Annual Energy Innovation Awards competition. The closing date for applications is 3^rd December 2007.

The Innovation Awards, to be held on Wednesday 6th February 2008 at the Holiday Inn (Norwich North), aims to breed a new spirit of enterprise in the region's energy companies. Previous years have seen the awards produce a plethora of imaginative and pioneering ideas to benefit not just local business but the global energy industry.

Companies will all be battling to earn a higher profile for groundbreaking innovations that are directed at solving a range of issues including helping make the industry safer, more effective, efficient and viable.

New for 2008
EEEGR will be introducing the Low Carbon Award sponsored by Carbon Connections. This accolade will be soley at the judging panel's discretion and will go to the finalist which demonstrates a commitment to improving resource efficiency and a reduction in carbon emissions.

Last year Lowestoft-based Pipeshield International scooped the top award for a project to dispose of offshore drill cuttings, helping to resolve a major issue affecting a global industry.
