This element is designed to take a practitioner through the process of defining the social enterprise's vision, values and ethics, and coming up with a mission statement that can take the business forward. Once this mission is defined, there are various organisational forms to choose from, which are presented in a format which guides the learner to the most appropriate for their organisation. On completion of this element, a learner should be able to:
- Facilitate the process of defining his or her enterprise's vision, values and ethics
- Develop the enterprise's mission statement
- Understand the different organisational structures for social enterprises
- Assess the advantages & disadvantages of each structure
- Select the most appropriate legal form
