Product design and development

Created Date:
21 November 2006

Most companies will have some sort of product development process which defines the sequence of activities, the control points and checklists used to manage a development project. Having a process is, however, no guarantee of success - what matters is the quality of execution of the key activities. Many of these activities take place during the 'fuzzy front end' when the product definition is still fluid. This element helps new product managers and team members to assess how well these key activities are handled and how to do better.
