Product innovation is a vital cross-functional business process through which a company can create and renew its competitive advantage. Although the pace of change may vary between industries, it is no longer enough to settle for 'business as usual'. This element helps managers and other team members to identify the role that new products play in their business, how their products stack up against the ideal and what opportunities for innovation there might be.
