The Innovation and Design Excellence Awards (iDEA) enter their third year in 2007 and entries can be made up until May 31. The awards are run by Cranfield School of Management in partnership with Eureka and New Electronics. The awards recognise the critical role played by both engineering and electronics design teams and fall into seven categories:
- Design collaboration
- B2B product
- Consumer product
- Green innovation
- Small company
- Design cycle reduction, and
- The Innovation and Design Excellence of the Year Award
Short-listed companies undergo a rigorous inspection by the judging panel, led by Dr Marek Szwejczewski from Cranfield School of Management. The winners will be named and presented with their awards at a gala dinner in London on September 21. Dr Szwejczewski said: “Innovation is gaining increasing attention among senior managers and directors and many now view innovation as the key to growth and profitability.
