Led by the University of Hertfordshire FDMX addresses the skills and development needs of the region's world leading film, television, animation, interactive media, design, commercials and corporate video clusters.

Acknowledged as significant wealth generators, these clusters have a fragmented structure - a few large companies and many smaller businesses. FDMX addresses this by providing collaboration opportunities and enabling the provision of co-ordinated advice and support.

Backed by the considerable resources of the five partners: University of East Anglia, Anglia Polytechnic University, Norwich School of Art and Design, West Herts College and the University of Hertfordshire, FDMX will assist graduate entrepreneurs, small businesses and freelances to develop a competitive edge.

FDMX works in collaboration with the regional screen agency Screen East and Skillset to deliver on the East of England Creative Industries Strategy and the Regional Skills Strategy and through this to provide foresight for the sector.

Starting with a detailed outreach and research programme throughout 2005, FDMX will firstly understand the demands and concerns of workers and employers and then seek to develop sustainable partnerships for the future.
