Personal Profile: Moana Pledger, B.A.(Hons), MBA
Moana manages i10 - a collaboration of 10 universities in the East of England, led by the University of Cambridge. The partnership is responsible for stimulating academic entrepreneurship and increasing commercialization opportunities between businesses and universities. It achieves this through a highly developed knowledge transfer infrastructure with over 4000 members.
Her previous post was as New Technology Manager at The Open University where she delivered a range of award winning web-based resources for the University's large community of students and staff. A key part of this work involved developing online communication strategies for bringing various academic, administrative and student populations together. Moana's earliest vocation was as a journalist in California before moving to the UK to pursue a career in publishing. Excited by the opportunities of new technology for learning environments she moved into educational publishing and developing online learning and corporate degree programmes for companies such as Coca-Cola Enterprises and Cadbury Schweppes.
