Environmental scientist Dr Stephen Hallett identified a gap in the market for a new environmental software product aimed at the water industry that is set to help the environment and ensure high water quality in the UK. However, Dr Hallett needed resources to develop his invention into a prototype, as well as business support to develop a professional business and marketing plan to help target and reach key buyers and audiences. Winning an Enterprise Fellowship Award, courtesy of university-to-business partners i10, gave him the support he needed to develop his product. A year later, Dr Hallett now has a highly marketable product, back-up from water industry regulators and interest from key buyers.
