Enterprise Fellowship Scheme gets Monkey Tower off the ground

When Alan Watt saw a gap in the market for self-erecting scaffolding he decided to set up a company – Brentwood-based AccelErector – to develop the product. However, needing nearly £5,000 to develop each prototype, he was finding it difficult to attract private investment without losing a large proportion of his company. Winning an Enterprise Fellowship Award, courtesy of university-to-business partners i10, gave him the support he needed to develop his product. Two years down the line, Alan now has a saleable and highly marketable product (the ‘Monkey Tower’) and private investors interested in further supporting the growth of his business.
